Dylan's Prayer
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for giving me life – I just love living the upside of life with Down syndrome. Thank you for mom and dad, my brothers, Jeremy and Gregory, and my new baby sister, Savannah. Thank you for my other family and friends – they are all just too cool. But right now, I want to thank you for dogs. I think they are my favorite animal and I’m so glad you decided to make them, just like you made me. I just love them and mom and dad told me there is an extra special one being raised and trained right now just for ME! It’s going to keep me safe when I play outside, go to school, and all sorts of other places. It is also going to help mom and dad relax a bit, so for that, I am extra grateful.
They love me so much and I don’t mean to worry them, but that’s hard to do ‘cause I don’t always understand the world around me and that can get me into trouble. I don’t understand money, either, but I know it’s going to take a whole bunch to get my furry friend home to me. But I’m not worried. Through you, anything is possible and I know that before long, four furry paws will be walking by my side.
